Dr Zahari Hamidon is currently an Associate Professor at the Cluster of Education and Social Sciences and Program Director for a Master of Instructional Design and Technology (MIDT) program at Open University Malaysia. He has an undergraduate educational background in Art and Design (Fine Art) from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) Malaysia as well as an M ed. in Computer in Education and PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He was a teacher in 1985-1990, lecturer in Technical Teachers Training College, Kuala Lumpur in 1991 -1998, Lecturer on Multimedia at Telekom Multimedia Centre, Kuala Lumpur (1997-1999), an Instructional designer in METEOR, which serves for Open University of Malaysia (OUM) in 1999-2000, University Brunei Darussalam, in 2001-2013. He has presented papers and conducted workshops at conferences, seminars and workshop in the areas of Instructional Design, Virtual learning, Interface design, Motion graphics and 3D animation. His research interests are MOOC, Cognitive load, Designing 3D animation movie, Instructional design, usability study, user experience and Experiential Learning which is the main focus of his current research.
